Aim is to determine the positions of the of the 0.4 and 0.8 arcsec f/96 occulting fingers and the f/48 spectrograph slit finger in the V2V3 coordinate system. Once their positions are well defined, and providing they remain stable with time, then Mode III target acquisition can be used to place objects behind them--without the need for interactive acquisition. Procedure is to do a 6x6 spatial scan with a standard astrometric star over each of the fingers in turn. Raster steps should be in intervals of either 0.1 (0.4 finger) or 0.2 arcsec (0.8 finger) with the FOC exposing throughout the entire spatial scan. Subsequent analysis should enable the extent of each finger to be determined in V2V3 Revised 11/13/89 to match Implementation Plan
