Results from a self-consistent MHD model of the solar wind from a polar coronal hole are here used to examine the relationship between solar wind velocity and the superradial expansion factor of the wind's flux tubes in greater detail. The latitudinal as well as radial variations of the expansion factors are taken into account. Attention is given to the reasons for the dichotomy between findings of researchers who have found a direct relationship and those who have found an inverse relationship between expansion factor and wind velocity.
