It is shown that the estinate of the energy emission probability described by the distribution of the inverse quantity 1/P rather than the distribution of the flux density P itself. The application of this result to the analysis of the empirical histograms of type III bursts showed that the bursts with a peak flux of the order of 100\cdot10-22 W/m2 Hz contain 10 times more energy than the total energy of all short tracks with a flux of 10\cdot10-22 W/m2 Hz each. Therefore, the radio sources emit the is energy mainly in the form of powerful bursts rather than in the form of numerous weak bursts.
