Flare Stars: Open Clusters, Flare Stars: Stellar Associations

Scientific paper

The stage of flare stars, which duration depends on the mass of the stars, is a natural stage of the early evolution for red dwarf stars. Any young or relatively young open cluster (or association) contains a great number of flare stars and their luminosity distribution is an index of age of the cluster (or association). In particular, a great number of flare stars have been found in the Pleiades and the further comprehensive statistics on the proper motions and the photometric and spectroscopic data for these stars are very important to solve the problem about the origin and evolution of the open clusters and dwarfs.
