Five-color photometric and polarimetric observations of HD 199178 and FK Comae are reported. The amplitudes and shapes of the light curves were variable with time for both stars. The largest changes in amplitude occurred in the UBV bands. From the linear polarization observations, inclination i = 79 deg is determined for HD 199178, and a single-star model with a dark spot is suggested. A strong polarization peak in the blue and ultraviolet, Py(B) = 0.248 + or - 0.028 percent, was observed in FK Comae on May 15, 1983. This transient event prevents an analysis similar to that of HD 199178. On the other hand it is an indication of strong activity of the star.
