The SDSS-II SN Survey primary instrument was the SDSS CCD camera mounted on a dedicated 2.5m telescope at Apache Point Observatory (APO), New Mexico (ugriz bands), in 2005 September-November. Spectra of SN candidates and, where possible, their host galaxies were obtained in 2005 September-December with a number of telescopes: the Hobby-Eberly 9.2m at McDonald Observatory, the Astrophysical Research Consortium 3.5m at APO, the Subaru 8.2m on Mauna Kea, the Hiltner 2.4m at MDM Observatory, the 4.2m William Herschel Telescope on La Palma, and the Keck 10m on Mauna Kea.
