The SECCHI Extreme UltraViolet Imager on NASA's STEREO mission is providing a new, unprecedented view of the three-dimensional structure of the solar corona. The EUVI is part of the SECCHI investigation and consists of of two telescopes, one on each of the two STEREO spacecraft. The EUVI started observing in December 2006, and has been returning stereoscopic observations from an appreciable separation angle between the two telescopes since late February 2007.
We present the first stereoscopic views and movies of a range of solar phenomena, including active region evolution, filament eruptions, CME related coronal field re-arrangements, and other transient coronal features. We also provide an overview of the EUVI and its capabilities.
This work is supported by the NASA STEREO mission under NRL contract N00173-02-C-2035.
