The first results of a systematic search for gravitational mirages among close pairs of blue objects are presented and some representative cases are discussed. The spectroscopic study of 15 candidates did not yield new gravitational mirages but revealed about 40 percent of the extragalactic physical systems including a large proportion of quasars, active galaxies, and H II regions.
