Scientific paper

The paper presents a preliminary analysis of panoramic television images of the Venus surface, taken by the Venera 9 and 10 spacecraft (located about 2000 km apart). The image analysis was performed without elimination of most of the noise, computer processing of the video signals, or photogrammetric measurements. Both Venus landscapes examined were found to have high rocky relief and to resemble certain desert landscapes on earth.
