The paper investigates the rotational motion of a satellite relative to its center of mass. The satellite is assumed to be in a circular orbit in the central field of a planet. Canonical action-angle variables are used to obtain the equations of motion, which provide a way to determine secular and periodic effects of the satellite rotational motion. A numerical example is presented.
