We prove that the basic intersection cohomology $ {I
H}^{^{*}}_{_{\overline{p}}}{(M/\mathcal{F})}, $ where $\mathcal{F}$ is the
singular foliation determined by an isometric action of a Lie group $G$ on the
compact manifold $M$, is finite dimensional.
