A study of the isoparaffin hydrocarbon content of a Chilean crude oil,
hitherto considered to have an origin different from the other crude
oils of the Magallanes Basin, suggests that this crude oil may have
accumulated by secondary migration and is related to the principal
oil-producing strata of the area.
