The preliminary results of a survey of the dynamics of optical filaments in southern supernova remnants are presented. These come in two forms: total velocity spread in the filaments obtained by adding emission line profiles from all observed positions; velocity maps for such objects as the Crab, and N49 and N63A in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It is noted that in almost all cases the velocity ranges are significantly higher than previously reported, and therefore more consistent with simple blast wave models and X-ray luminosities.
