The goal of these activities is to restore the optical field angle distortion OFAD calibration of the FGS units that have been affected, if any, by the activities of the servicing mission SM3B. This is a contingency proposal. Selected visits shall be execuetd only if the results of FGS/SM3 proposal 8995 indicate that the distortions within a particular FGS have changed sufficiently to affect the accuracy by which HST is pointed under guide star control. This re-calibration will return the knowledge of the OFAD to a level of accuracy sufficient to support the acquisition guide stars and to restore HST's pointing performance to pre-SM3B levels or better. The actual solutions will provide the Project Data Base with the significant terms, their values, and their covariances including errors.
