The purpose of the FGS/FHST On-Orbit Test is to verify the ability of the FGS/FHST Combined Pointing Control Mode to achieve the accuracy required to support science observations. This test should demonstrate that the predicted roll error and corresponding pointing error is not exceeded by the vehicle under each of the identified observing scenarios. The on-orbit test will verify each of the following: 1. Ability of each FHST to control roll. 2. Ability to hand-off roll control from one FHST to another. 3. Ability to configure FHST control before and after FGS control. 4. Roll stability under gyro control in cases where FHST settling time was and was not achieved {and thus whether the integral term is not or is zeroed}. 5. Ability to perform small angle maneuvers, especially while under gyro control.
