The effect of spontaneous symmetry breaking on the generalized Dirac equation for a ten-dimensional space-time is investigated. It is shown that a 10-dimensional fiber bundle with a canonical metric becomes a Riemannian manifold on which spinors can be introduced. The results suggest that the initial arbitrary choice of one of the equivalent minima of the symmetry breaking Higgs potential has an incidence upon the fermion quantum numbers, allowing the initial symmetry between matter and antimatter to be ruled out once the metastable state has been abandoned.
