We present the analysis on the solar emission for the first 18 months of data collected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board of the Fermi Observatory. The LAT has observed the high-energy gamma-ray emission and measured the spectrum and angular distribution from the quiet Sun with unprecedented sensitivity. This emission is produced by interactions of Galactic cosmic-ray nucleons with the solar atmosphere and by inverse-Compton scattering of Galactic cosmic-ray electrons off solar photons in the heliosphere. The observed flux is expected to vary over the solar cycle due to the heliospheric modulation of cosmic rays and it is maximum for the previous extended minimum in solar activity. Fluxes and spectra are compared with theoretical models.
