The ESO Archive contains data collected at the three observatory sites in Chile, on Cerro Paranal, Cerro La Silla and the Chajnantor plateau. The data originates from 10 telescopes ranging from 2.2 to 12 meters equipped with 35 state-of-the-art instruments. Together, they cover a large observational domain from optical to sub-millimeter. In the near future, ESO will also host a complete synchronised copy of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) archive through the European ALMA Regional Center (ARC). In this paper we present the large and varied collection of archival holdings stored within the ESO data center, and services for users to access the Archive. We illustrate a few examples of archive feedback: (a) APEX observation planning optimization based on meteorological archival data; (b) historical PWV record over Paranal based on analysis of archival spectra taken during 2001-2008; (c) finding Solar System Bodies in ESO archive observations; (d) feeding back the Archive with pipelined processed spectra public through the ESO Archive services. The provision of such value-added services is a vital step in fully exploiting all the precious resources that comprise a state-of-the-art astronomical observatory.
