The behavior of the Fe II lines in the ultraviolet spectra of the emission line stars Boss 1985, eta Car, and S 22 in the Large Magellanic Cloud was examined. The dependence of the Fe II line emission as a function of the excitation potential, line strength, and wavelength is discussed. Increased optical thickness of the emission lines, the presence of absorption components, and in many cases, a large negative continuum gradient make the study of Fe II in low resolution spectra more difficult.
