Far-UV (200 nm) images are presented of the well-known starburst galaxy M 82 obtained with a 40 cm telescope during a balloon flight. The spatial structure of the UV emission differs greatly from that observed at other wavelengths. The UV morphology is dominated by three emission regions, two on the major axis and one on the minor axis of the galaxy. An interpretation is proposed in terms of stellar emission for the regions on the major axis and of scattered light for the maximum outside the plane of the galaxy.
