Time-distance helioseismology using f-mode travel times is used to study near-surface regions of realistic numerical magnetohydrodynamic simulations. A fully-consistent inversion procedure is used to analyze the simulation flow field outside of a sunspot. This approach is carried out to validate the time-distance technique, as well as the sensitivity kernels and the inversion algorithm. This work is supported by NASA under the SDO Science Center project (contract NNH09CE41C) as well as well as a NASA EPSCoR award.
