Photographic amplification has led to the discovery of additional low surface brightness (LSB) galaxies in the Fornax Cluster; attention is presently given to these LSBs' morphological appearance, dynamical stability, and usefulness as distance indicators via luminosity fluctuations. The sample obtained is combined with a Virgo LSB sample in order to reinvestigate the faint-end slope of the galaxy luminosity function (LF). Crude dynamical arguments involving questions of disk stability and resistance to disruption by the mean tidal field of the cluster yield circumstantial evidence for an M/L ratio higher than that implied by observed blue colors. In combination with the increase in the faint-end slope of the LF, this implies a nonnegligible mass contribution from these objects.
