A numerical experiment was performed to demonstrate that at resonance, forces act more effectively and reinforce the motion of a stable resonant system. The experiment was taken from the problem of plane rotation of a celestial body about its center of mass while moving in an elliptical orbit around a gravitational center. The extremal properties of resonant motions which are solutions of the basic equation are investigated. It is shown that the time average force function generating the gravitational forces attains maximal values on the set of initial data corresponding to stable resonant motions.
