The extinction efficiencies of randomly oriented infinite graphite
cylinders, including hollow cylinders are calculated, using the rigorous
Kerker-Matijevic formulas. The peak in the mid-UV extinction varies in
wavelength with particle radius and cavity size in a way that makes such
particles of limited interest as models of interstellar grains.
