The wavelength dependence of interstellar linear polarization is computed for core-mantle (astronomical silicate - dirty ice) cylindrical grains with Davies-Greenstein alignment. The effects of variation of the grain size, the degree and the direction of grain alignment are discussed. It has been found that the wavelength of maximum polarization λmax is determined mainly by the grain size. Dependence of the ratio Pmax/E(B-V) on the degree and the direction of grain alignment is strong. The width of the normalized polarization curve is only slightly sensitive to the parameters.
