Recent X-ray data from Chandra and XMM have revealed remarkable evidence for the interaction between extended radio sources in galaxy clusters and the intracluster medium (ICM). The presence of inflated bubbles in the ICM, of cooler and brighter rims around such bubbles, together with the presence of `relic' bubbles all suggest that radio sources may have a significant influence upon the evolution of the ICM and its energy balance. In addition, the ICM influence on the radio sources can provide useful diagnostic information about the evolution of the radio sources. Recent observational and theoretical work in this area will be reviewed, together with the presentation of some new views on the radio source-ICM interaction.
