Observations of eight galaxies with the VLA showed five to have extended radio emission which, in general, appears asymmetric and on a scale of only a few seconds of arc. Comparison of this structure with VLBI models of the milli-arcsec scale structure in the nuclei revealed close alignments between the position angles, suggesting a long-term dynamical connection between these different regions. This is very similar to the situation found in many active radio galaxies and quasars. If a common physical mechanism is indeed responsible for the similar radio structures seen in all of these objects, then it must be capable of operating over a range of at least 1,000,000, and probably much more, in radio luminosity.
