Broad Absorption Line QSOs are notoriously faint X-ray sources. To elucidate the X-ray properties of the population as a whole, we are conducting a survey of a well-defined sample of 18 BAL QSOs from the Large Bright Quasar Survey with the Chandra ACIS-S3 instrument. The low background and excellent spatial resolution of Chandra permit sensitive observations in a relatively short time. With the ACIS data and optical spectroscopic follow-up with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope, we compare the X-ray properties of the BAL QSOs with their ultraviolet absorption and emission-line characteristics.
