A six-feature all-sky star field identification algorithm is developed to match approximately detected star fields with reference star fields. It is also integrated with a CCD-based imaging camera. The experimental performance of the star pattern identification algorithm was tested and verified at the Table Mountain Observatory. A set of observatory tests on star fields with this intelligent camera are presented.
