Neon:Transition Probabilities, Transition Probabilities:Neon

Scientific paper

Relative transition probabilities for 21 (3P)3p-(3P)3s lines of Ne(II) have been determined from emission line-intensity measurements. The lifetimes of the (1D)3p2F7/2 and (1D)3p2F5/2 levels of singly-ionized Ne have been measured by the delayed coincidence method; possible cascade transitions that may repopulate these levels have been studied. Comparisons are made with other experimental and theoretical values.
