A series of annealing experiments of a mixture of olivine fragments and metal at high temperature were conducted to provide an experimental basis for the rounding of olivine fragments in FeNi metal. A very fast solid-state round process was found for micron-sized olivine. It is suggested that angular pallasites were produced by five-year heating at 1400 C, and rounded pallasites by 2 x 10 exp 6 year heating at 1400 C.
