In order to increase the quality and scope of the Danjon astrolabe of the Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armanda (ROA), we transformed it to be able to do observations of stars, planets, and the Sun. These modifications concerned the driving device and the external optics. The present paper reports the results of an observational campaign of the Sun. During the period 1991 April to September, 137 solar side transists (including 25 complete Sun crossings) were observed with the 60 deg standard angle device (a pleine pupille - APP) in place of the prism. Reduction were made in the new 1984 IAU constants system. The computed positions with which the observed positions are compared were derived from the VSOP82 Sun theory. We have used the UT1-UTC, x, y parameters of the Earth rotation published by International Earth Rotation Service (IERS) to compute apparent latitude and longitude variations. For all the experimental measurements made during 1991, the mean value found for the semi-diameter reduced to one astronomical unit is: s = 958.59 sec +/- 0.14 sec.
