The methods and equipment used in observational and experimental gamma astronomy are described. The general problem of detecting and recording cosmic gamma radiation is posed. Design of detectors, counters, spark chambers, and gamma telescopes are discussed. A brief description of the organization of ground-based measurements and measurements carried out in balloons and orbiting satellites is given.
