The instrumentation for measuring energetic fluxes and gamma rays on Salyut-7/Cosmos-1686 is described, and experimental results are presented. It is shown that the adopted scheme for the separation of neutrons and gamma rays makes possible at least a five-fold reduction in the background during the registration of solar neutrons using the technique proposed by Chupp et al. (1982).
