The expansion velocity can reveal information about the hydrodynamics in a planetary nebula (PN), as well as about the evolution of the nebula and its central star. The expansion velocity of 27 galactic bulge planetary nebulae (GBPN) was measured. Preliminary results show: (1) the expansion of the GBPN seems to be slower than the expansion of the galactic disc PN; (2) a well defined expansion vs. PN nuclei (PNN) temperature correlation; and (3) a fairly short 'expansion stage', implying young objects and/or high PNN masses.
