General methods for finding exact solutions to Kaluza-Klein
methodologies with phenomenological matter are considered. Particular
attention is given to a space-time split topologically into alpha + 2
homogeneous and isotropic factors. A scenario related to the
Freund-Rubin (1980) compactification scheme is studied in detail.
