Using data from the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer we have studied the orbital evolution of the Cygnus X-3 binary system and have produced an updated ephemeris. We have also conducted a search for evidence of pulsar emission which would indicate that the compact object in this system is a neutron star. Such emission has been reported, but only at extremely high energies and only from one set of observations. Since failure to observe this signal at X-ray energies could be due to scattering of the X-rays in the dense stellar wind of the companion, we confine our search for the pulsar signal to times when the possibility exists that significant X-ray flux has escaped from the compact object relatively unscattered.
