Attention is given to the distribution of the silicon abundance in magnetic star atmospheres, for the cases of 12,000 and 14,000 K effective temperatures and dipolar magnetic field strengths of up to 100,000 Gauss. The important horizontal component of the diffusion velocity leads to a migration of silicon from the magnetic equator towards the magnetic poles, yielding various silicon distributions on the stellar surfaces which depend for their state on the age of the star. The youngest stars exhibit overabundances everywhere on their surfaces, especially in the equatorial zone. After about 100 million years, the equatorial region will become silicon-free, except perhaps at the equatorial plane, while the other regions will have moderate overabundances.
