When an isolated massive star moves with respect to the interstellar medium (ISM), the supernova explosion is likely to occur outside the bubble generated by the precursor during the main-sequence stage. Off-centred explosions inside the cavity occur only for very massive and/or very slow stars. Several 2D numerical models are worked out and compared with some observed supernova remnants that could have originated from the explosion of moving progenitors. The influence of such remnants on the interpretation of the `number-size' relationship is also discussed. Key words: ISM: bubbles - supernova remnants.
