We apply the YAFTA magnetic feature-tracking algorithm to characterize the longitudinal field evolution of AR 10930 during the X6.5 flare on 2006 December 6. This work is carried out using GONG++ one-minute cadence magnetograms. Covering the four-hour time interval centered at the GOES start time 1829 UT, we identify several distinct magnetic features and trace their evolution and interaction throughout the time interval and interrelate their sudden longitudinal flux changes at the time of the flare. We discuss changes in magnetic shear at neutral line and contrast changes inside and outside the sunspot penumbra.
