We report on the computational modelling of the evolution process of initially spherical diamond nanoclusters with diameters ≈1.3 nm in vacuo under the influence of thermal annealing. The transformation into recognizable chiral core-shell clusters occurs for temperatures of annealing exceeding 1000 K. The implications of this with regard to the composition of the interstellar medium and the relationship with experimental Raman scattering data obtained from a pre-solar meteorite (Boriskino) are discussed.
