We use detailed evolutionary tracks of (sub-)halos from the most detailed CDM simulation performed so far ("Via Lactea"), together with a low resolution, statistical sample of galaxy halos, to address the following questions:
How and when are galaxy dark matter halos really assembled?
How does the abundance of (sub-)structure change over time?
How much mass do subhalos lose on a given orbit due to the tidal forces, and how do peak circular velocities, concentrations and density profiles evolve in the process?
Why did halos, which are found near larger systems (i.e. strongly clustered), form earlier?
