The secular evolution of nontypical asteroid orbits is investigated in terms of a restricted circular N-planet problem with a perturbation function averaged over the mean longitudes of the asteroid and the planets. Integral curves are plotted which describe the orbit evolution of several real asteroids including Hidalgo and Chiron. Particular attention is given to the intersection of asteroid orbits with those of planets, and intervals between the two consecutive intersections are estimated for the simplest cases.
