Scientific paper

The evolution of the planet-satellite system caused by tidal forces is
studied. It appears that even a small eccentricity of the satellite's
orbit may alter the mean motion of the system. Tidal processes on the
planet and on the satellite are investigated. Their influence on the
eccentricity of the satellite's orbit is discussed.
