A theoretical investigation of disturbances caused by explosive-type UV sources in the upper atmosphere is presented. The sources considered may be an explosive-type plasma generator or a magnetoplasma compressor with magnetoexplosive energy generation. The hydrodynamic problem concerning the expansion of the explosion products is solved. An analysis is made of the concentration profiles of different components behind the shock front generated in the atmosphere during the dispersion of the explosion products and propagating in the region disturbed by the UV radiation.
