MOSFIRE is a multi-object infrared imager and spectrometer for the Keck I telescope. The detector is a 2K x 2K HAWAII 2-RG HgCdTe array from Teledyne Imaging Sensors having a cut-off wavelength of 2.5 μm and an operational temperature of 77K. We report first results of tests on the MOSFIRE science grade detector using the SIDECAR ASIC instead of a standard controller. Evaluation of detector performance using the ASIC in 32-channel mode shows excellent agreement with results obtained by a low-noise controller. Fowler sample measurements were able to achieve 5e- rms of read noise. Results are also presented on the performance of the detector in the deliverable detector head and focus mechanism. MOSFIRE is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2010.
