Methods for comparing and evaluating characteristics of the geometric distortion in MESSR, TM, and HRV satellite data are presented, and a procedure for evaluating the distortion is proposed. Various examination cases classified by satellite data, coordinate transformation formulas, angle of observation, etc. are discussed. The accuracy of the correction of geometrical distortion is determined qualitatively and quantitatively by using the vector representation of the errors in coordinate transformation and the evaluation index.
