Scientific Ballooning, Gains, Evaluation Of Balloon Trajectory Forecast Routines

GAINS preflight planning and post-flight recovery requires accurate
prediction of balloon trajectories. We have developed computer software
to perform these calculations. This paper discusses methods employed by
this software, and an evaluation of prediction accuracy for the period 1
March 2001 through 31 August 2001.
