The distortion of the standard microlensing picture by the galactic gravitational field is considered. It is shown by using a crude model that the effect of the galactic gravitational field on microlensing by an approximately solar-mass gravitational lens may cause significant variations in the light curve, similar to the double-lens effect, though the probability of observing such an event is low.
