A method is developed for calculating one-dimensional or two-dimensional simulations of the surface of an asteroid of any diameter or type. Attention is given to the principle of the simulations, the theoretical aspects of the asteroidal surface description, and the mathematical approach to simulations. Results on rms heights and slopes of asteroids of different diameters are presented and compared with those of the moon. Simulations show great differences between surfaces of asteroids and that of the moon, due to the fact that rms slopes and heights given by the simulations depend on cratering; they correspond to much rougher surfaces on asteroids than on the moon, at metric or larger scales.
